Choosy Chicks Choose Chicklets Design                                     Challenge!

(Featured Artist Sue Kennedy of SueBeads and Hosted by Toltec Jewels)

A TISKET A TASKET I GOT A CHICKLET IN MY BASKET!

Another bead another challenge!  This time it was a single Chicklet bead made by SueBeads.

I was very fortunate that the color I received in the random selection was a beautiful blue.

Did I start designing my piece immediately?  Of course not-that would be SO unlike me.  I waited until the day before-early for me-to start gathering beads in the pallet that I had already chosen in my mind when I first got the Chicklet.

Melding the "blue willow" pattern style of antique Asian Bowls and "Wedgewood Blue" antiques my delicate design began to take hold!
Using some vintage pale blue seed beads, fresh water potato pearls, Czech glass leaves and some fabulous green patinaed seed beads cut on the diagonal, gear shaped spacers and of course the SueBeads Chicklet as a focal with a large crystal perching atop the Chicklet it all came together.

Thank you all for taking the time to read my blog and see my work,

Thank you for the pleasure of participating in this blog hop Rita-aka Toltec Jewels and Sue Kennedy-aka SueBeads!  I really enjoyed this challenge!

  3. Another wonderful chicklet color. You picked up the blue in the chicklet and then you re-emphasized it with the darker blue. The little seed beads cut on the diagonal are a nice detail. Its a lovely necklace

  12. The Wedgewood & antique china theme is sophisticated and gorgeous with your chicklet! The elements are wonderful, from the genuine pearls to the iris magatamas. What a beautiful way to feature the floral lampwork: smart, elegant, so pretty! You knocked it out of the park Robin! Thank you so much for sharing your talents! Happy Hopping! xxoo Rita
